Business Unit Marketing Director – North America

Job Summary:
The North America Business Unit Marketing Director is responsible for directing and developing regional marketing organization to maintain a full understanding of the market conditions for the long-term goals to build and implement of the business unit market plans. The market plan must capitalize on opportunities, minimize threats, and ensure the Business Unit goals are met, while providing sales and operational support for the Business Unit. This role reviews changes in the marketplace and recommends marketing strategy and tactics to the Business Unit General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and track annual business unit marketing plans that include profitable growth strategies to capitalize on competitive opportunities and minimize competitive threats and ensure that plans/goals are in line with corporate goals.
• Communicate with Business Unit General Manager to direct sales activities to ensure marketing plans are met and corporate/business unit policies are followed. Support Sales Organization to ensure a thorough understanding of marketing programs, pricing, customer specific pricing, promotions, product positioning, brand, etc., resulting in their maximum utilization and increased profitability.
• Analyze and interpret key business unit market information including competitive analysis (provided by marketing analyst), economic/political environment, global economic events and industry trends that will be incorporated into marketing product/program improvements to ensure marketing programs are competitive, timely and profitable for the business unit.
• Identify, prioritize, and communicate business unit product list for future development to ensure market needs are incorporated into the company’s product offering.
• Implement corporate marketing policies to ensure business unit goals are met – for revenue, profit and EBITDA are met.
• Communicate pertinent market information to corporate marketing and operations to ensure integration between the business unit and corporate marketing.
• Recommend, implement, and monitor strategic and financial objectives for department to ensure employees’ acceptance, motivation, achievement, and celebration of outcomes that meet Katun’s overall objectives and mission.
• Facilitate the selection, placement of new employees, and guide/coach business unit marketing team’s work behavior and development to result in a motivated and productive workforce.
• Recommend, implement, and monitor, continual improvement/quality initiatives, policies, and processes in order to achieve quality and profitability goals.
• Performs other projects, work and activities as assigned to ensure continuous service to our internal and external customers.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of marketing experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements*:
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• Hybrid work schedule – in office Tuesday-Thursday.
